It’s important to know the placement of a window sill in relation to the window frame, window sills are usually fixed from the back of your window and has a seat or stool profiled will have a fall manufactured

You can also fix your sill underneath a sub sill that can be manufactured in a plain flat finish and fixed with a slight slope to create your weathering

Slate sills can also be manufactured with either square ends that finish with the opening or can be cut with horns or joggles to lap your build

We have standard profiles and we can also make bespoke please note that you need a minimum of 50mm overhang from the finish block work for the weathering to work

Slate window sills are a better option to pre cast concrete

Architects, designers and builders all prefer to use slate as a long lasting product. Sills form the horizontal lower part of the window, the main purpose is to form a weather reflector for your window structural opening and has aesthetic look to finish your build. Slate window sills can be made with a weathering detail or can be fixed with a slight slope to prevent water from penetrating your home, you also have a choice to flute a 6mm drip groove to the underside of the front long edge this is optional but recommend to prevent erosion and staining of your home.
